Columbia Elevator Solutions Inc.

The company now known as Elevator Solutions International Inc. had its beginnings in 1949.  Charles Loomis started Western Manufacturing as a manufacturer of custom sheet metal products.  In the 1950’s Western began making elevator cabs and entrances.  In the ensuing years, the manufacture of elevator components became Western’s Manufacturing’s main business.  

Montgomery Elevator purchased Western Manufacturing in 1973.  The facility was part of Montgomery Elevator and then Montgomery Kone until late 2000 when the Wittur Group, headquartered in Germany, purchased the plant.  In the summer of 2004, the operation became known as Elevator Solutions International Inc..   This change signaled a return to independent ownership, with John Mann becoming the principal owner.

Since the start, the manufacturing operation has been located at the Strother Field Industrial Park in Southern Kansas.  The current building was constructed in 1981, with significant additions in 1997 to accommodate the manufacture of harmonic door operators, and in 2001 to increase warehouse and office space.  Elevator Solutions International Inc. today is a 90,000 square foot facility sitting on 22 acres with a rail spur.  Strother Field is also a small airport capable of landing regional jets and is conveniently located with quick access to interstates, both North/South and East/West.

Elevator Solutions International Inc. in 2004 offers cabs, entrances, harmonic and linear door operators, replacement parts for operators, cabs and entrances.  It is our intention to expand the products we offer by discovering opportunities and providing "Solutions for your elevator needs".

Elevator Solutions International Inc. was purchased by Columbia Elevator in 2007, we are now Columbia Elevator Solutions. Combined with Columbia Elevator factories in PortChester, NY and Miami, FL we are able to offer a greater variety of products to our customers.".
